Good-Bye, Winter! Hello Spring...NOT!

Well it was a beautiful 78 degrees yesterday. People were out everywhere running, flying kites, walking dogs. We took the boys out for ice cream and drove around with the windows rolled down. But today is a different story...

Here is Zoe out by our pond around 2 p.m. today.
Hunter was the brave soul who took her for a walk.

Days like these are excellent crafting days!
So here is a little something to inspire you today.

Pot of Gold

Following are the directions for your own
Pot of Gold.

The pieces you will need:

5 1/2" x 4 1/2" score at 1 1/2" all on four sides

2 - 3" circles

2 strips 1/4" x 4"

1/2" x 5 1/2"

First cut and score the box (I used yellow for my template)
5 1/2" x 4 1/2" and score at 1 1/2" all on four sides

To make the box attach your red line tape as follows.

For the 2 - 3" circles trim 7/8" from the top of each circle and 1/8" from the bottom of each circle. Next adhere the 1/4" x 4" strip to each circle and trim diagonally for a finished look to make the pot (caldron). When attaching the caldron to the box, line the top of the box with the top of the caldron.

After adding the trimmed circles (caldron) to each side you will attach the 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece on each side of the caldron with a large glue dot to create the handle.

Now you are ready to embellish...my favorite part!
I used the #117191 bird builder punch and #117193 heart punch
to make the 3 leaf clover.

I attached it to the front of the caldron with dimensionals and added a rhinestone...ta da! Now you can fill it with yummy treats.

I used Hershey kisses for this one and...

Lucky Charms for this one...they are magically delicious.
If you want gold in your caldron you can use Hershey Nuggets, Rolos or Gold Coins.

I found this limited edition of Lucky Charms at Wal-mart.

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!
