Christmas 2014

Feliz Navidad...
from Our Home to Yours!

Harrel Family 2014

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas...we sure did. We spent Christmas with my mom and sister in Silver City, NM. We had a blast! But it was sure cold in the mountains.

 Tamales 101

For Christmas my family makes tamales and this year the boys were old enough to participate.

You start with husks that have been soaked in water and dried.

Then you spread the masa very thin onto the husk.
Masa is Spanish for dough. It is often short for masa de maĆz, a maize dough made from freshly prepared hominy. It is used for making corn tortillas, tamales and many other Latin American dishes.

Next you add your meat mixture. We use pork...your tamales come out very moist and of course...YUMMY!!!

It's ready to be wrapped!

Here are my mom and Hunter working on their tamales. They are busy little bees!

Finally, we have our first batch ready to be steamed! They weren't the prettiest tamales but they sure were delicious!

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Good Morning! I am so sorry I haven't posted for awhile. This holiday season has been crazy busy for me. I haven't stopped crafting I just haven't had time to post but I have some stuff to share with you today.

Santa Treat Boxes

I found these cute boxes on Erica's site and I just had to CASE them for the girls at work. They are so stinkin' cute! I changed it up. I used the new #135315 Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper for the mustache and some mini black clothes pins.

These were so fun to make and the girls loved them!

Holiday Recipe Book

I wanted to show you these cute recipes books I found at Hobby Lobby. I bought several of these for my family and personalized the front.

Here is the inside...so fun and colorful!

I have shipped out all the Christmas gifts and now I am ready to enjoy this wonderful holiday season with my family:o).

And this is what my craft room looks like right now...yikes!

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!

Santa Gift Card Holder

Hello! Hello! Remember this Holly Jolly Man? I decided to turn it into a gift card holder by using a template Lori Heiling used last year to make her Perfect Blend gift card holder.

Santa Gift Card Holder

I took Santa rotated him slightly, attached him to the gift card holder and added a black band.

A peek inside...Oh look, it's a Nothing Bundt Cakes gift card:o).

We had such a great time. I wanted to share some photos with you of the girls working on their Christmas projects.

Here is Kelly having fun making her Gift Card Holder.

Aimee is working on Frosty's Top Hat.

Wendy loves the Santa Gift Card Holder...

and so does Paula.

Cheryl was the first one done with all her projects and ready to order her Christmas supplies.

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!
