Scripture Box

Happy Monday! I have a cool new project I've been working on. My best friend Mary wanted to make a Scripture Box to go along with our Bible Study so a group of us got together and this is what I came up with.

My Scripture Box

I chose Heidi Swapp's Sugar Chic cardstock for my box. I used a different patterns for each side of my box and distressed the edges.

I made 6 file cards for my box using more of the Sugar Chic cardstock and a tab punch which I attached to the top.

Here is a closer look!

For the front I used Tim Holtz corners and ornate plates.

On the top I found a 3D cross and embellished it with rhinestones
as well as the cute cheetah cardstock.

I am still working on the side of my box...
it needs just a bit more.

I also lined the inside of my box with more chic paper.

This is still a work in progress.
But I am very happy with the way it is coming along.

And of course I ALWAYS have a blast shopping for my embellishments!

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!

Mr. Peeps!

Good Morning! I hope all is well with you. This big guy is my favorite Easter decoration. I made him a few years back. He's so stinkin' cute, he brings a smile to my face.

Mr. Peeps!

For this project the first thing you will need a patience. But it is totally worth it. The supplies used are a ball of yellow crochet thread, fabric stiffener, 1 large balloon, felt sheets (orange, yellow and black), and orange feathers. These can be found at your local craft store.

Blow up your balloon to the size you like. (Use a yellow or light balloon...I used a green balloon and it is still stuck at the bottom of Mr. Peeps.) You will then get your yellow crochet thread and tie a knot where you knotted the balloon. Start wrapping the crochet thread around the balloon in all directions. This takes awhile...I watched TV doing it. Next hold your wrapped balloon over a very large bowl and pour the stiffener over the entire balloon...very messy! You can gently move the excess stiffener off with your hand. Hang the balloon for 48 hrs. to dry. I used a clip and clipped the balloon to a hanger and hung it in the garage to dry. (Please clip where you knotted the balloon). It took 2 days to dry! After the stiffener has completely dried you will need to pop the balloon. Mine stuck to the string in a few places so I just gently pushed it off the string where it fell to the bottom. I was not able to remove the green balloon...no worries you can't see it!

Now comes the fun part. I free-handed a pair of wings and feet, then attached the eyes, beak, feathers, wings and feet with some liquid adhesive.

TIP: Please do not store your chick in the attic it will loose it's shape.

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!

Easter Treats

Good Morning! I spent the weekend making some Easter treats. I used my Silhouette to cut the "silhouette" of this cute bunny.

 Easter Treats

To make these treats you will need the #119860 1 3/8" Circle punch, #119854 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, #127811 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch and #124134 Cellophane bags.

My cardstock matched most of the colors of the Easter M&M's... tempting turquoise, wisteria wonder, blushing bride, melon mambo, daffodil delight, pistachio pudding, crisp cantaloupe
and early espresso for the bunny.

I couldn't decide on the size of the bunny
so I made another set of treats with a bigger bunny.

I love all the color!

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!

Happy Spring!!!

Good Morning! Today I would like to share with you another fun card with the Chalk Talk Bundle set. This card was cased this from Becky Roberts. I chose this bright and cheery card in honor of the first day of SPRING (coastal cabana, strawberry slush).

Chalk Talk Card & Bag

BUNDLE & SAVE: #132730 Chalk Talk Bundle, #130499 Positively Chevron background stamp, #119859 Oval punch, # 117193 Heart punch, #123130 Designer Frames Embossing Folder, # 131260 In Color 2013-2015 Markers, #130024 Coastal Cabana Ruffled Trim.

I used a regular lunch sack from the grocery store. I cut the bottom off and used snail to seal it. Then I ran it through the Big Shot with the #127749 Chevron Embossing Folder...that's it!

TIP: Do not use liquid adhesive, it will seep through the bag and discolor it.

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Cards

It's Wednesday...Hump Day! It's already been kinda of a long week for me. When the kids are sick it takes a toll on you. My youngest, Jadon, came home from school sick but is now feeling better. I know this because he is playing videos games again:o).

March is a big month for birthdays in my circle of friends, so I wanted to post one of my favorite cards. It is easy to reproduce and can be made in several different colors.

 Chalk Talk Birthday Cards

I used the #129983 Chalk Talk Framelits and #130634 Chalk Talk stamp set, #118309 Itty Bitty Punch pack, #132173 Banners Framelits and #129389 Hung Up Cute Clips. To give it a chalky look, distress the edges with #101731 Whisper White Craft Ink and allow it to dry.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hello! I want to wish you a Happy St. Patrick's Day! Hopefully you are wearing green today and if not you don't get pinched too much:o).

St. Patty's Day Card

In honor of St. Patty's Day, I wanted to make one more card. I opened my scraps of green folder and was inspired by all the shades of green. With just a few punches and scraps I came up with this.

Spring Break & Crosses

Hello, Hello! I hope you all are enjoying your SpRiNg BrEaK. We just got back from Splitsville (bowling in Fairview, TX) and we had a blast! It's kind of a vintage, retro-style bowling alley with a fun spin on music, the food was delicious and very moderately priced! I would definitely recommend this place.

Chuck, Jadon and Hunter are enjoying their pizza and sushi. What a combo...it's Friday and Lent...no meat!

Chuck and I smile for a pic despite our scores...JK!

Crosses

Last year I made these crosses for my sisters (Shelby and Lori) as roomie gifts for the 2013 Stampin' Up Convention. I found these crosses at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbooking section.

Shelby likes animal prints especially zebra and hot pink
is her favorite color. So I went from there and embellished with flowers, stickers and trinkets.

Lori is a vintage, shabby chic kinda girl so I used
My Mind's Eye paper, vintage flowers, lace and trinkets.

These were so much fun to make! I am going to make some more as Easter gifts for my family. I will post pics soon!

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!

Feeling Luck?

Good Morning! I wanted to show you that inspiration is all around you. My friends always ask me where do I get my ideas. Sometimes Pinterest and others times mainly things around me. In stores, my socks, flyers, flower arrangements...you name it. My first example comes from Sam Donald (Pinterest). I liked the layout of her card. So I kept the layout the same but changed the colors and the embellishments. I used gold embossing powder and 4 leaf clover to create my card.

St. Patrick's Day Card

I used #130517 Gorgeous Grunge stamp set,
#109129 gold embossing power, #117191 bird builder punch and #117193 heart punch.

*I wanted to post Sam's card but it is copyrighted and I am new to blogging. I don't know if I need to ask for permission to post someone else's art. I am looking into that...sorry.

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!

Spring Break & Spring Cleaning!

Hello! Hope you all are enjoying your Spring Break. We sure are! Spring Break and Spring Cleaning/Organizing go hand in hand with me. On Sunday I went to Michael's and was in the organizing section and I came across these little beauties. I wasn't sure they were going to work but I bought 2 and tried them out today. I was so excited I wanted to show you.

Spring Cleaning/Organizing

This is a craft tray organizer...I know, can you believe it?

It comes with 10 plastic pieces (which are your dividers) that fit inside the grooves to contain your supplies. I used an x-acto knife to cut them apart because the scissors left little bits of plastic on the divider and they didn't seem to fit into the grooves correctly.

Look at this..all my supplies are neatly contained!

And it fits perfectly in the Iris.

Here it is all packed up and ready for my next crafting day.
My paper is underneath and my supplies and embellishments
are all on top...easy to find and use.

Hope you enjoy...thanks for stopping by!

Easter Chick Card

Hello! This week is Spring Break for us and we have decided to do a StAyCaTiOn. The boys are so excited to just relax and enjoy a week with no routines and a couple of jammy days. The weather is slowly warming up here and it's starting to feel like Spring so I thought you might enjoy this sweet little card!

Happy Easter Card

This is definitely a cool technique and easy to create. The gingham pattern is created by using an ink pad and #123128 Stripes Embossing Folder. You will need to ink the raised side of your embossing folder, place your paper in it and run it through your Big Shot...just like normal. Re-ink the same side and place your paper in again, but this time turn it 90 degrees. Run it through once more, let it dry and ta-da! It's ready to embellish.

Tip: There are two ways you can ink the embossing folder with a brayer or just place the ink pad gently on the embossing folder. Make sure you have inked the entire folder.

Supplies:

100730 Whisper White CS
119858 Boho Blossoms Punch
117171 Bird Builder Punch

TGIF!

It's F-R-I-D-A-Y!!! I am so looking forward to Spring Break. Here are two  treats you will definitely want to add to your Easter Baskets!

Bunny & Chick Boxes

Aren't these little guys stinkin' cute?

They are super easy to make!

To make the triangle boxes you will need a piece of cardstock measuring 2 1/2" x 5. Score at 2 1/2" on the long side. Next, make a little hash mark at 1 1/4" on the short side. From there you will use your bone folder and make a diagonal score line from the top of the card to the middle score line (as shown above). You will bring both ends to meet then punch a hole on each side of the box and run your ribbon thru the two holes and tie your ribbon...your triangle box is done. Add the body parts and you have a super cute treat!
